I worked for a carrier who finally had to define on paper everything drivers got paid for and how much.
We voted no union when the agreement was published
Previously only a select few drivers got paid for all services rendered/waiting time etc

    Dave_in_AZ and driverdriver Thank this.

Lived in Reno 10yrs ran Donner regularly never once chained and never seen it with chain control solid for days.
You can always get through barefoot.

Do you pay your drivers to chain?

If a driver gets $500,000 salary a year + benefits + pension is there chain pay in there? You either want the job or you don't.

Some drivers deserve what they get.

    NO chains. No pass.
Semis don't go barefoot unless chain law is off. They DO have checkpoints.

If a driver doesn't feel that he needs to be paid for chaining up, who am I to argue?
But I'll bet if those same drivers...and the some of the guys who posted in this thread...were offered something extra to get out there and hang iron they'd take it.

Maybe by barefoot he meant waiting for the chain signs to come down. Hope so, anyway.
