I'm going to assume that is to the truck as an O/O.
-
Yep. 99% of the time it was a road where chains were required as soon as you pulled off the highway no matter what the weather was, so it only took maybe half hour to put them on put they stayed on for 5 or 6 hours after thatOxbow, MartinFromBC and not4hire Thank this.

Many oilfield contracts/jobs are like that. When I was with Schlumberger my price book had all kinds of chargeable items like chaining, being drug through the mud, etc. Unscrupulous carriers will not pass the accessorial pay on to O/O and just pay the straight rate.Nothereoften Thanks this.

Alot of ours was piles from a sister company so whether hourly or included in the rate was determined by who paid the bill

No but I’m few in the banana boat that’s paying solo drivers 60cpm with unlimited home time and miles. If you refuse to chain and it’s going to cost you to be late some where. That is a problem and maybe this job isn’t for you. If you have time and you want to shut down sure by all means go ahead.Oxbow, Dave_in_AZ, Long FLD and 3 others Thank this.

I've never been paid to chain up, but I have paid to be chained up, and she was worth every penny.krupa530, Dave_in_AZ, driverdriver and 1 other person Thank this.

There are guys who sit at Donner and chain up trucks for a fee... I think it’s $100 or something like that... I’m a female driver: 18 years::: I’ve chained many times and even tho I’m kinda small: chubby: but small... I can and will do it if necessary... it takes a bit of practice; but, after you do it a few times; it’s not so bad... chaining Snoqualmie: 4 drives; 2 trailers... takes me about 30-45 minutes; but, I’ve seen guys throw them on and go in 15-20....Nothereoften, Oxbow and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.

Cmon driver ur a truck driver , its part of the job. Why do ppl need nickels and dimes thrown at em for every little thing they do, especially when chaining up is part of the job sometimesDave_in_AZ Thanks this.

You do get paid for it tho.. It may not be itemized ... They pay u to be a truck driver... Part of drivin a truck is maitaining ur equipment , inspections, chaining up, fueling, all that other ####.. Its part of the job and its calculated into ur weekly pay.. Weather u get paid by the mile or by the hour or by the load ... If u want to itemize it i would be that prick payroll boss if u want all this accesory pay ur gonna be gettin less cpm than u gettin now which the way u guys are complaining about doing ur job as a driver sounds like u already dont get paid enough... That like a burger flipper complaining they have to put lettuce and ketchup on the burger they just flipped... But boss man why dont we get paid to squirt ketchup and mustard!gokiddogo and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
