Coming up US 50 to home this morning...the sign board was advising motorists "CHAINS REQUIRED OVER SUMMIT"....clear now, but I wonder....how many panicked or raced to get to the snow with this little teaser storm??!!!!

You should have been on 70 this past Wednesday morning...Say between 0200-0800 hours.....

It took me about 5.5 hours to go from Edwards to Brighton....

We had to chain-up at Vail and run to Bakerville to take them off...

CO is sure getting fussy about big rigs and chains!!!

So who did you allow to drive your rig while you were running to Brighton? Didn't know you were a marathon runner...aren't you getting a bit on the "aged side" for that activity????:biggrin_25521:

Edwards to Brighton is about 130 miles....

I for one thought it was gonna be a repeat from the week before when I had to shut it down in Frisco...Too many cars going back to Denver and snowing.....Not a good combo....

Anyway...I had an 0700 Drop in Brighton....Got up early thinking by that time....The plows would have cleared the ribbon and chain control would have been at least lifted at the grade to the tunnels...
Nope....I had to have the chains all the way to Bakerville...

I stopped in Silverthorne to check the chains....Had to retighten two sets...And then helped out another driver who never chained-up before at the Silverthorne chain-up...

Yep...Getting up early and I still was two hours late.....:biggrin_25516:

Oh well...The receiver was cool about it...Because every other truck was at least 4 to 5 hours late....The others all stopped at either Dotsero or Eagle...

    Hammer166 and otherhalftw Thank this.
