Expected conditions for Colorado, as reported by the NWS, for the next 36 hrs: I-70 Vail Pass, Eisenhower Tunnel, US 40 Rabbit Ears and Berthoud Passes, expect extreme to impassable winter driving conditions, with up to 2' of snow possible in the mountains. 4" to 8" (this has been revised 5 times in the last 12 hrs) for the front range (Inc. Denver, Boulder, Ft. Collins) with winds gusting to 80+ mph (as of 6:15 pm MT, I'm getting gusts of 35 mph at my house in Thornton, NE of downtown).
BTW, the rule of thumb, when they revise the snowfall totals for Denver more than twice in 12 hrs, that means we will either get 0 to 2" or 12"+ by the time it's done.
