Winter has come to Oregon! From Eugene to Albany it's a slow ride and got chains required in Albany. I'm sitting in Medford because I got 5100 in the box and not playing with the morons up there. Tripcheck.com shows from Albany to Portland it's super backed up. Starting to snow up on siskiyou but no chain requirements yet. If you're running 84 there's a few, mainly up on Cabbage in both directions. I guess I'll leave here about 5:30 and hopefully the traffic will have thinned out by the time I get there. Safe travels kids!
otherhalftw and 25(2)+2 Thank this. -

Chain law moved into Eugene now. Pretty much have chains required from the 176- 244 mile markers on I-5 north and south bound. So it sucks. Be careful ihe headed onto I-5 or i-84 in Oregon. US 20 also has chains over Santiam, also Willemette pass, Cow Canyon, pretty much anywhere there are snow zones there's chain law.
Working Class Patriot and otherhalftw Thank this. -
Snow was accumulating on Smith this morning, (0400), no controls or even plows/sanders working yet at that time...dry roads the rest of the way to Sac. Had the chain controls on 36 before 1000 hrs....so the mountains are getting it. The next wave (Sat) is supposed to be a lot warmer and they are predicting rain at Tahoe, no snow!joseph1135 Thanks this. -

I'm gonna try and run up there, no point in staying here looking at the wall anymore. Weather isn't any better but traffic may have let up a bit.

You don't need chains for flat ground.......Or maybe people in OR do.....
