I am ashamed to admit it, but Mother Nature won the chain up battle today, heading SB on US 285, tried to put my chains on, usually I can knock out 4 singles and be back under power in 20 minutes or less. Today, it took me 90 minutes to get 3 singles on before I had to give up. Now, there's a caveat to this, it was a very slick, wet, slushy, icy snow and every time I would try to get on my chain boards they or I would slide, every time I stepped to the ground I would slip, finally my trans torque locked leaving me stranded. I still made it another 15 miles before I turned around (not because of the weather but because I would arrive at my shipper too late to get loaded) and headed back to Denver. I believe the score is Mother Nature 1 Striker 300, she's got some catching up to do.

I with you. Any place that requires chains is a place I will not run. I grew up driving in WI. If I can't safely make a trip without chains, the trip isn't happening.
