There's a lot more problems there other than the axle it's on. :biggrin_2559:

The fact that he managed to make his bungee cords look like a swastika kind of cracks me up.

cams aren't locked in, one good pot hole and that chain is coming off when that bungee pops loose from around the lugs.

He/she obviously didn't watch my video!

We tested that front chain theory on asphalt covered in fire foam (dish soap in the water tank then sprayed through the engine pump)...didn't help in steering, actually made it worse!

Truth be told, I have run with drive chains, trailer chains, and yes, I've even done steer chains. Best tire I found for steer chains (done right) is a 305 (low and wide mini float tire)(on civie truck rubber). Personally, it has to be pretty bad to run steer and trailer chains, and I'm not fussy on showing noobs how to do it, because they forget quick. If it's that bad you need trailer and steer chains, you're better off parked. If you're stuck, then maybe, just maybe, it's good to know.

The last time I ran a fleet and drivers was in the Army. MY guys and gals started chain training in the fall intermittently, then for real in the snow, and all were prepared if and when they needed them. The only issue my people had were off road if a chain broke.

Ohhhhh yeah, as for Hammer's picture, it does look a 'little bit' sloppy, eh ?

If you REALLY need to go up and over the hill, try one of these with a 5th wheel instead ...........

What's the refrain? Oh yeah, "If it's bad enough to need ^that, it's not safe enough to go." :biggrin_2559:
