Was issued a new truck a month or so ago. It was pre-loaded with used chains.
A few days ago I get some time to go through them. Turns out they load 4 sets of singles which is fine. I had time to go through 6 chains. Each one had at list one "twist" in it. A few were worn pretty good but probably will be okay.
Points being
I guess stowing in bags or boxes is the worst way to manage them but use cable ties to help keep them "together" and segregated.
- Check your chains if your not familiar with them while the weather is good
- Correct any "twists" (where the ends were pulled up through an opening in another part of the chain)
- Learn how to handle and stow your chains from start to finish to avoid turning them inside out
CHAINING...are you ready?
