Be careful when posting chain required positions...CA and OR REQUIRE 2 drag chains and WA REQUIRES 1 drag chain.
Each state has their own "specifics" as to how and when and how many....check with each states web site to be safe.

otherhalftw and Lepton1 Thank this.

Didn't feel like reading 230 pages, but am I the only guy who throws iron on and doesn't drive my truck over the chains to put them on?
-
Well I sort of drive over them once I drape them over and then pull forward
-
You can get away with 1 drag in California. I've never had anyone say anything about it

Snowing in Wyoming...
Might be another El Niño winterLepton1 Thanks this. -
Has been snowing in western Montana. Almost had to chain up going over Homestake pass this morning. 4 accidents within a mile on top.

The 2018 Golden Chain award goes to Coal Bank Pass on US 550, first official chain law of the season was Sunday 10/7 at 4:50 pm. Since then, it's been up and down like crazy, US 550, Hwy 9 and I-70. There's been multiple closures of 70 over Vail and Eisenhower due to accidents and spin outs as well. I guess winter is officially here. The first ski area to open, will probably be Silverton Mtn. sometime this week, with Arapahoe Basin or Loveland not far behind.
