Wait a minute going off duty to satisfy a 30 min break, while you chain up sounds illegal to me?

    Cattleman84 Thanks this.

I dont get what takes some guys so long... Dump chains and lay one out and make sur not twisted, throw it over tire, hook inside rail, straighten chain on tire, hook outside rail, tighten cams... Repeat for other 3 drives, roll forward 3 feet, retighten rails and cams, throw on a few bungies and your ready to roll.

    Hammer166 and Oldironfan Thank this.

I chain 2 tires at once. Or rather position and drive over them.

I always chain up without driving over the chains... That way when you get stuck and cant drive over the chains you know how to do it.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.

I meant put on tire leave one side extra low on ground than drive over that bit. Than hook up chains, and strap. Being most chains do not have cam buckles no more.

Yeah why did they go away from the cam style buckle/latch??? They seemed like a much better design, IMO.

    Oldironfan Thanks this.
