I picked up my truck last week to the present of chains in the side box.
They get laid out this weekend. When I get it home for the first time.

I've gone one step farther after last winter, leave em at the store were some other poor bugger can buy them. Nothing wrong with chaining when needed, but doing short hauls putting them on and off for every load it gets old fast.
Where I am now they don't allow it on most lease roads and the oil companies just call a farmer to pull you out with a tractor when you are stuck, or to pull you in where needed. No chains even carried on the truck.
Truckers get to be lazy, roads don't get torn up as bad, and farmers make a lucrative side income. Trucks don't get paid as much in this area, so drivers aren't willing to work as hard. As a company driver I make similar money.Giggles the Original Thanks this. -
