From time to time I haul bridges from Greeley (Big R Bridge) to Cali......You would think that since those bridges are not solid like a van would be that the winds would just blow through.....
Nope....A driver flipped his rig at Sierra and the 15 (Below Devore) last Spring loaded with a 40' x 120" bridge.....Winds were blowing around 30 kts (24 mph) with gust upwards to 65 kts (74 mph).....

Those side winds can be tricky......

Not in a truck! I've been on 58 a whole 2 times in the last 9 months in a truck and have yet to take hometime at home, in tehachapi. I always take my hometime in Phoenix. SWIFT makes me clean out the truck EVERY time no matter how long I'm off, and the closest terminal to tehachapi is in Fontana.... Family all over Phoenix, so it's just easier for me to do it here.

Ok.....I spent the night shut down by Arvin on 58 because CHP closed down the 58 at Tehachapi because of snow....But then again, every time one flake of snow falls anywhere in Cali....it's grounds to shut down the whole friggin' state.....:biggrin_2559:

I just spent 2 days on BS loads in and around the LA area... Hoping that California would fall into the ocean didn't work, maybe we should try to sell it to Mexico? Or, maybe CA will just outlaw trucks all together! I HATE that state!

Once again....WCP comes up with a plan!!!

When do we start opening up that dome on the Capital Bldg. to let the snow in......a little snow on the legislature....close the gubermint!!!

So simple, so simple//////.......maybe that's what the May driver was doing when he tried driving up the steps in front....had a load of ladders in that van, and the refer would chill the air to get snow inside the building..........Genius, so simple it's genius!!!!!!!:yes2557:

And I just did a round trip...Stockton-Patrick-Stockton......hoping for snow, but clear skies all the way!
