I carry them year-round too....
Chains also work in loose ground too....kw9's rock Thanks this. -
I was going to add that they are handy in Canada in the spring when the ground turns to mud. Most of the prairie truck stops are dirt lots and get pretty well churned up after some good rain. I have had to throw a couple chains to dig my way out once or twice!Working Class Patriot Thanks this.

Can you imagine the ######## that would ensue if some if these guys actually had to get dirty?!!?

Phil Philter is working harder than usual....didn't know "throw iron" would be considered cursing!

our sleepers carry chains year round, the day cabs only in the winter, although starting last year, two of the day cabs started carrying year round as they now have chain hangers instead of bags on the floor.
-
No wonder they sleep all the time.....carrying those bags around with ya would get anyone tired!!!!
striker Thanks this. -
I don't chain. Oh I carry them. Yes I know how. I spent five seasons in the log woods of northern Idaho. So I have chained. No I'm not scared. I run oversized loads most of the time so I'm not allowed to move if someone goes out and pours a cup of water on the road.
otherhalftw and Working Class Patriot Thank this. -
Don't be 'Beddin' if you're afraid to get dirty......
