So CDOT not only closed down the E/B Rest Area in Glenwood Springs...They just tore it down.....
The Tomahawk was torn down about 6 months ago....
Well....I hope the good people of Glenwood Springs don't mind more trucks parked on their streets....

The "GOOD" people of Glenwood Springs have long hated truckers. I'm surprised that Tomahawk lasted as long as it did. Way back in 1997, the manager knocked on my door at o dark thirty and told me to turn off my refer unit. He explained that he was getting complaints about noise. . .I just left, and haven't been back since.

When I was a kid, I had cousins in Glenwood. I spent a lot of time there in the summer. Hate what it has become now.

If the hot springs go....Glenwood Springs might as well become Green River......

Oh I don't know, I don't think Green River can claim to have a mine fire that has been burning since 1910:http://fieldguides.gsapubs.org/content/5/143.abstract

Are those springs in danger of some sort now? We used to get the "Glenwood Crud" on our elbows from those springs. Everybody who was in them for any length of time got it. . .:biggrin_2554:

IIRC...Green River is a little polluted...The locals have told me the fish aren't safe to eat.....
Ah but Hell....I was eating fish I caught in Long Beach since I was a kid.....I'm not dead yet....:biggrin_25523:
