Yeah, this would have been OK if the idiot hadn't blocked the roadway at the top of the grade. This was that long grade coming out of Cove Fort, but it was WB, west of Cove Fort.

A bit off topic, but on that same grade, back in '89 or '90 I was EB in my POV, on vacation. I noticed all these tarantulas moving across the highway! The road was literally covered with them, moving to the north. I found out later that it was a very unusual migration for them. That was the same year the Mojave was overrun with caterpillars and then butterflies. Strange year for "bugs. . ."

Without our Eight-legged "friends"....The world would be over-run by six-legged pests....

All hail the spider....Ugly yes....Scary yes.....

But without them...Life would definitely suck...

Yep, God had a reason for each and every one of the creatures He designed! I'm not fond of "creepy crawlies" or snakes, but I won't harm one unless it is a threat, or inside my home.

Either of you two been across US 50 in NV (central) for the annual red desert beetle migration? Millions of em...turns the road surface slimy red....and NHP are positioned at the crossings to slow the motorists to 15 mph as you crush the swarm....and they keep on coming and going. Weird, really weird!

To get us back on track: I wonder if chaining would help when crossing those "slick migrations?"
