It's why I never bought an APU. Get into a motel, use their facilities, their wifi, watch Netflix, drink beer, sleep in a king bed. Wake up, fire up the truck, and watch weather channel.

Another important thing that has not been mentioned here, that taboo and unspoken thing called exercise. You do not have to be a super athlete but exercising for a short period of time each day will help your body resist the effects of the sun. Unlike door slammers, flatbedders have the advantage of a home gym that is the trailer itself. Obviously during the hottest part of the day is not a good idea.

If it's really hot out, work at a steady pace, and as soon as I feel like the heat is really getting to me, I stop and go cool down in the truck with the a/c on, then once I'm comfortable I go back to chaining and tarping.

Montana is where I was born and raised. Cold never bothered me much 45* - 50* range is t-shirt and shorts weather. Spent several years in the military traveling to multiple countries and climates, heat I don't recall being a bother. Until the mid 90's driving dump hauling asphalt around the Richmond Va. area, that truck's a/c didn't work all the engine heat in the cab with burning hot asphalt behind made an oven. I was also having to get out and work on the asphalt in 100* weather long story short I fell out. Since that day I don't handle heat well at all.

Just got good semi good news from work. We just bought 2 new trucks and trailers. Better news is that the mechanic and equipment manager are pushing hard for me to get a set because I take such good care of their equipment. The best news is the trailers are either curtain side or constoga. The mechanic wasn't sure which. So cross your fingers fellas it might be an awesome summer yet.

    Superb!

You know,.. a lot of the time, a lot of people use 'A Lot' incorrectly,.. so if you use A lot, a lot of times then a lot of people will see a lot of other people using a lot in a correct grammatical manner.
