OP probably has a job by now but VNV gave me a ride with 0 road experience and only the MELT program...much appreciated and ill never forget it...good people to work for and reasonable pay.

 

VNV Logistics out of Etobicoke....they have a bunch of newer Volvos for US runs but also have local and short haul and its pretty much all dry van on the east coast....im getting 2500-3000 miles a week...home on weekends. Apparently theres canada only long hauls too but im just taking pretty much whatever they send me to just to get some miles under my belt. I was so unprepared its ridiculous and theyve helped out alot. I also like that theyre not "new canadians" so to speak.

 

Do they hire new drivers? Getting my AZ license this week. Also do they have a pet policy?

 

Yea they hired me...just went on a little road test and that was about it. You need to open an Incorperated business and business account, but they will help you with that....no pets or passengers unfortunately...which is why im looking for somewhere else to go but for now its ok.

 

Beware. Your going to get screwed! Why are you incorporated?

Yes CRA recently said they'll be cracking down on Driver Inc. if you don't own the truck, you are an employee.
