You have two threads that you started, and both are filled with drama and employment issues. You are 0-2 fresh out the gate. Are you sure that you want to drive a truck? Those things that you know you should have done but opted not to do, are you ready to do them now? Or will your third thread announce an 0-3 record?
Chance of getting hired? Thoughts?

Falling asleep while driving happens. The difference is you (the driver) realises this and pulls over. like right now. I uses to see trees growing in the fast lane ! I knew I had to stop. Even slapping myself in the face didn't work. Remember Chevy Chase falling asleep behind the wheel in the movie and staying asleep while the car ran crazy on the highway.
MACK E-6, silverspur and Powder Joints Thank this. -

This right here. I pulled Amazon loads that had to be delivered within your 10 hours of driving no excuses. Runs were middle of the night. I used to run hard till just outside Chi-town. Stop at 4 am. Take an hour nap. Then hit the city and still be 2 hours early for my appointment.
First time I pulled over and told dispatch I was taking a nap they about crapped their pants. They did this for about a week till they saw that I could still make it then nothing was said.silverspur Thanks this. -
I hate to admit it, mine was I would start seeing bridges over the highway that were not there, I knew it was time to park it. I used to alot of loads out of Ventura / Oxnard over the hill to Taft & Maricopa's oil (The Patch) fields, I would pass through Castaic and next thing I was going down the big hill just north of Lebec. Scarey stuff, very serious. By the time you realize you need to stop, you've already driven too far.
Getting sleepy isn't something to hide, If your a trainee, believe me your trainer should never give you crap if your not fit to drive, it his life your saving also.silverspur and tscottme Thank this. -
I worked for a produce hauler back around 2001 and they would get pissed over sleeping after you spent the last 24 hours getting the 12 stops loaded. Liked to tell us "Loads got to roll".CrappieJunkie Thanks this.

The good old days...take a benny and boogie. I tried hauling produce and lasted about three months. Yakima to L.A; one or two drops, start north picking up as I went, maybe five or six or ten picks. Had to be in Associated Grocers Seattle asap. Empty back to Yakima and load for L.A. again. Round and round.
The dispatcher kept a big jar of pills in his desk. He'd make sure you were well supplied when you left. -
