Iv'e got a K100. When you put the key into the passenger door lock, it turns right around and nothing happens, in other words it's broken. I've bought the key and barrel kit off KW, 2 door barrels and the ignition switch barrel with 2 keys. I've changed them in the past, problem is I've forgotten how to change the door lock barrels.
I remember you cut off the stainless cover over the lock, problem is I've forgotten where you go from there. You don't have to touch the interior trim.
Couldn't find anything on google, and on TTS one guy removed part of the interior trim and I know you don't have to do that.
Anyone know where I can find step by step instructions, preferably illustrated? Or can anyone explain it step by step?

I always pulled the door panel, I don't know for sure on a k100, but all the ones I changed have a retaining clip on the back side. Pop it off and pull the rod loose and it should come out of the front.

I need to do the same thing on my 900, just put off buying a new one. Driver side barrel missing all together.

Doesn't it just SUCK when you have done something and can't remember how you did it? I have that happen a lot lately.
Mr Ed, Ozdriver, Diesel Dave and 3 others Thank this. -
I had the same problem with Pete, tried everything, took it to a locksmith, he had the tools to swap it out quickly, charged me $10...

Well... my lock is missing on the drivers side, and since it needs to be installed I bought a new set (2) in a pack. By turning the barrel all the way to the left it pulls out slick as a hounds tooth. Won't be able to with it installed in
the door, not that I can see. Mine is a 1995 W900L.
Ozdriver Thanks this.
