More money but a set of 5 locks gives you 1 key for the entire truck.

I didn't know you can remove the tumbler alone. Mine came out but it was because it was wore out. This was on a 1979 K100. If it was that easy to remove the tumbler without removing the inside door panel, any theif would have a feast day. When I changed mine, I had to remove the inside door panel. @SmokinCAT has a couple of KW's, he might have an idea and refresh your memory.

This is the part that comes in the kit, and that's what I want to install. You can do it yourself without pulling anything apart because I've done it before at least twice but that was about 20 years ago. I do remember that once you pulled that tumbler out, the new one pushed straight in.
Anyway, I'm going to have a go at it later today. IMG_2835.JPG

Does it have the little pin hole where you insert key?

There's a pin hole on the ignition lock where you push in a small screwdriver to release the tumbler, pretty sure there isn't one on the door lock.

Looking at the pic oldskooler posted,at the bottom of the tumbler looks like it's just a push lock.

In your pic, see how the pins are flush with the housing with the key in. Now turn it one way or the other as you pull slightly on the key. It should come out.

FullSizeRender.jpg IMG_4094.JPG IMG_4095.JPG IMG_4096.JPG IMG_4097.JPG FullSizeRender.jpg Too easy. Just pry off the stainless cover, turn lock fully anti-clockwise (LH door). Pull tumbler out (with a bit of wiggling, it's got to overcome a small leaf spring in the door lock itself). Clean out debris, it will most likely be the tang on the old tumbler. The tang is designed to break before the key breaks. Some CRC, then push in new lock.

    Update:
Obviously I changed the tumbler in the driver's door as well, but the door handle was worn, so I bought a new one. It's also easier to change the tumbler and barrel with the door handle off. But what's this? Is nothing sacred? Paid the US price as well FullSizeRender.jpg FullSizeRender 2.jpg
