I've read various posts that claim Swift allows pets, but many of those posts are a couple of years old. I'm under the impression that Swift has recently changed their policy, and only allows pets that have been grandfathered into the system. Can anyone verify this?

Yes, i just came out of orientation on wed, and i asked the same question, the answer i got was that they
Are grandfathered in asks that Swifts policy in now, no pets
However the feeling i got was "if you do, it's at you're own risk" type of policy

I know someone that may be able to verify it, A Swift recruiter.I think to try and get an accurate answer to this question or any you may have is to ask the recruiter.

If you want the trueth , a recruiter might be the last person to ask !! As they tell you anything you want them to , to get you to sign on a dotted line ! Go to thier online home page or contact thier safety manager , they are the ones that would tell you for real !!!

what does "at your own risk" implicate? Will you get fired for it, or simply fined?

Unsure what you can expect but I would stand to guess, maybe a verbal or write up at most, but like I said I can't be sure.
What I know is the little information that my recruiter gave me witch was ill look into it for you or at orientation witch was all company regimented and here witch comes from other drivers

If some of you drivers are employed by Swift and driving a company vehicle, wouldn't that be in the "Employee Hand Book of Policies and Regulations"?

Not that I really care. But wouldn't any company that has a set of policies in place have it easily accessible for their employee's to look up?

    Yes, its company
But every driver dose his or her own thing, and takes the policy in their own context

Maybe someone can break this pet policy down for me:

    1) How do they determine the weight of the animal? Does someone at Swift interview the dog and check its weight, or is it simply a bunch of paper work you personally fill out and then Swift just "trusts" that your dog meets the weight requirements?

    2) Once again, what are the penalties for violating this?
