Anyone else hear about Schneider changing PM schedules? I tried taking my truck in for a B at 81k miles (thought it was 6k miles past due) and was told that it's not due for it until 108k. Shop in Charlotte told me that new maintenance schedule is A A B every 36k miles. And that the first one is skipped. So a new truck gets a PM A at 72k and then a B at 108k. After that it's A A B every 36k.... Seems like not enough? Or am I silly for thinking that an oil change every 108k miles isn't enough?

No way Id run those kind of service intervals but these big fleets have got the minimum maintenance mentality dang near to a science .

I think its bs. will find out tomorrow.

in fact I had an A done in april and in june they pulled me in for a hard scheduled B.

really its set up on a 3 month cycle. so 36k isnt out of the realm of possibility if conditions are right.

It used to be 20-25k between PMs on an AAB rotation, depending on make model and age.

Now that Schneider doesn't own the trucks anymore they appear to be caring less about the long term condition of the engine.

Hey originally told me AAB with 25k intervals. At this point, truck had an A at 50k miles and it won't see a shop again for 55-60k after that.

    What engines are they using?
I wouldn't want to buy one used after they've tortured it like that.

in nearly 30 years of maintaning trucks and cars.........Motor oil Turns from golden color to almost Black at around 8,000 miles..Everytime, hauling heavy or light..No matter the engine, Ive had mechanical CATS,NTC cummins and N-14- now in an electronic cat.. Same thing.

So,If this Schneider is changing oil every 25k...Damage is occurring everytime they get serviced......Like someone said,They don't own em,So why change oil earlier,Right? let the next guy OH the truck.

As soon as I start seeing that sweet Golden protecting color of oil turn dark gold/black......I drop it (between 8-10k).. I go over a million without anything..And years ago, 500k on Connecting rod n Main Bearings

That's the mentality of the fleets , pump em and dump em by 400k with minimum maintenance.

Daimler owns the trucks, Schneider leases from them.
