    I have used both free & paid versions of AVG and it's good. But right now I'm using (warning swearword coming) Microsoft Security Essentials with no issues at all and it actually found somethings on my laptop that AVG never. It was also the highest rated free antivirus software by one of the PC magazines.

    thanks truck 101 for the info. It was an old ebay laptop. But that site could come in handy.

    I've been using the McAfee and so far I like it.
