I remember when the HOS rules were changed. I thought it was a mistake then and I still do so today. Those old rules were much better. While these new rules allowed for (at the time) an 11-hour drive and the 34 hour reset. However, brought into play that dang 14-hour clock. Sometimes when something is not broke it should not be fixed. I drove under both rules. To this day I felt like I got more done under the old HOS rules. However, of course, I respect those that feel otherwise.

The hard 14 bites, sometimes. Logistics gets complicated doing relays, getting service on a truck, and dock facilities being compromised by ice and snow buildup.

Nothing has been said about unrealistic delivery times. That's always been a problem and puts a lot of undue stress on drivers. My motto has always been, the freight doesn't get there till I do and if it does I screwed up.
