The FMCSA rule has always been if your driving the truck you must be on the drive line it's nothing new it's SNI and others are pushing for the change.
It's another way to limit our income potential.

My message is addressed to independent contractors. I miss it when we used to drive trucks instead of the law driving them.Vilhiem Thanks this.

You're also supposed to be on line 4 if the engine is running. Maybe they'll get that fixed for us next.

This change to omni tracks was not SNI or any other carrier. It is being mandated by DOT to omni tracks that they update the system to put the the drivers log on line 3 driving anytime the wheels are moving. According to the FMCSA that is how the regulation is written and they are forcing omni tracks to comply.

How can they mandate the software when the elogs aren't even mandated yet?
Vilhiem, scythe08, Home_on_wheels and 1 other person Thank this. -

lol that's what I'd like to know.
We all know there's still drivers out there running with multiple logs books too. -
I don't know the answer to that. All I know is the change is being forced by DOT to Omni Tracs to comply with the FMCSA. I am still trying to get some clarification on a few things, if I get any more information I will be sure to relay it here, I may get more tomorrow.
