As I stated earlier to Tennman, not all the info is known on this change yet, for instance, will the QC still log in 5 minute increments? If so, moving around a DC will have no affect and not be a burden on the driver at all. There was no information about changing the 5 minute increment aspect of the logs.

    Vilhiem Thanks this.

In the message I received, yes, the driving threshold will be removed. i.e. no 5 min leeway. As soon as the wheels move you go to drive line. BUT, it didn't say that you have to be on that line for 5 min for it to stick.

While they arent mandated there are regs in place regarding them for the carriers who do use by choice. What will really suck is if the 15min block becomes required for elog.

I duspect they will see a whole lot of truck movement at yards etc with no assigned driver. Like hitting an oc gate with 0 tome left.

That doesn't work. As soon as you log back in, it updates your logs and any unassigned time is automatically assigned to you. I know, I tried that. It doesn't work!!!!

If my truck needs moved for some reason while I am off or otherwise away from the truck my logs better not show jack #### but off duty line one til I report back to the truck. Work done by the shop , moving around the yard etc.

We get the question unassigned time do you accept?

Now my gate scenario may reflect different but the other nondriver stuff shouldnt screw us.

Not true. If you log out of your unit, when you log back in, the unit specifically asks if you want the unassigned time assigned to you.

No, it stated the threshold for drive line would be removed. IE: by the old standard you would not be put on line 3 till certain thresholds were met, now as soon as the wheels move it will put you on line 3. It said nothing about removing the 5 minute increment.

    Vilhiem and Home_on_wheels Thank this.

Absolute garbage. If you're bustling around on private property, looking a place to park or swapping trailers, or simply moving the truck to a better parking spot, or if you are women up and FORCED to move, it's ridiculous to have that break your 10 hours off or if you have time left on your 14, but not your 11

Again, that only matters if they remove the 5 minute threshold.
