It's coming. This is the first I'd heard of 125 feet but I had heard about it logging one minute increments instead of 5. IE you put you put yourself on duty for 3 minutes for a post trip, then go off it will log 3 minutes.

My guess is the 125 feet thing is a response to the new(ish) tractor tracking software. Every time you set the brakes it updates the trucks position. Another TE maxed out his 11 getting to his consignee but had plenty of time on his 14, he dropped his load and hunted for an mt, then went to bed on the customers property. In the morning his DBL got an email about him violating the HOS but she couldn't find any violations in QHOS. Turns out the tracking software saw he was out of hours and flagged the violation.

I met an intermodal guy last weekend who just came back to Green Bay after living in Seattle doing local gas delivery. He had worked for schneider previously and assumed that if he logged out of the QC he could use it as personal conveyance. The QC got really mad at him as the movement was "unauthorized" and he must "return the tractor immediately". That's all of the story I got as a red headed teenage boy who smelled like hot dogs walked up behind us and became a hilarious moment that only works if you were there.

oh well, guess that just means we'll just have to drive 30 seconds stop.. restart the truck and repeat

I'm sure some "driver" was cruising around off duty at a truck stop or a shipper and took out something/someone and now everyone is being punished.

btw I recently got a phone call from my ICA about a sleeper berth provision I did, you know the 8-2 split.
Got the whole.. "that's a no no" even though DOT and the logs say that it's okay.

Oh yeah..they told us not to do that in orientation. The stupid thing is that the 8-2 split isn't that complex, it just has to be explained right.

The QC does it for you anyways...
