I don't know........I think mostly what they do is pretty good and fair. If you've ever been frustrated by a load that was supposed to be 20k and it ends up being 40k or a load the was supposed to be a drop and hook turns into a live, ask yourself this, "what part of this does Schneider own?" Usually, if you're honest with yourself, the answer is, not much.......it's the shipper putting in BS information just to get the load moved. (On the other hand, the load I'm under right now was supposed to be 44k and it turned out to be 15k and in my estimation, the times a live turned into a drop and hook far out weighs the converse.......so, sometimes you just can't be mad.)
That said.......
1. I don't appreciate the HHG mileage gyp. Look, this is doggone 2015, my phone can place me anywhere on the earth +/- 5 feet. It is disingenuous, and frankly fraudulent (in my mind), to be paying HHG miles.
2. Get some kind of control over your trailers.......grow up an put some big boy pants on. For cryin' out loud, I worked for FedEx and we knew where THOUSANDS of trailers were (+/- about 50) at any given time. Again, we live in a world of satellites and GPS tracking, there's no reason not to know where your equipment is.
3. Stop inundating me with worthless information on my Qualcom........."Shipment information has changed." HOW???? How about, "Ready time has been moved forward 3 hours. Your trailer will be ready at 1430 hours Eastern Standard time." Sometimes I feel like we're working with 20 year old technology and no one is doing anything to make it better.
4. Snacks.....we need more snacks.
Thats all for now. Hi ho to all
changes you'd like to see to the Choice program.

I think the choice program is just fine..other then:
Detention pay as talked about before.
When u book a preload/drop and it turns live on one end or the other and "it's just the way it is".
Trailer searches..pay mileage as soon as I move.
Unrealistic mileage from zipcode to zipcode..it's the 21st century..we can calculate from doorstep to doorstep.
Double the amount for VNU.
And finally..someone NEEDS to tune up customer service.
They are the reason why we have most of the problems that crop up..hold them accountable for making mistakes.
Maybe if some of the issues everyone has stated here were addressed..I wouldn't have to do the under handed BS I do EVERYDAY to make things work.
I'm talking to you BOX PLANNERS!!
The Long War continues....tazman74, Home_on_wheels and TennMan Thank this. -
As someone ready to come onboard I guess the thing I find most concerning besides the detention pay is working for free if you need to hunt down an empty. It's my understanding they don't pay anything under 50 miles? Correct me if I'm wrong.
-
You are correct. Out of route miles for finding an MT. Less than 50, 0 bucks, 50 to 99 miles, 50 bucks, 100 to 150 miles, 100 bucks, and so on.
It doesn't happen that often for me, except around Xmas freight season. But it sure does suck when it happens.FatDaddy Thanks this. -
I can't tell you how many times my actual miles were 60-70 to get a trailer only to hear from my ICA that the computer says 46 or 48 or 49.5 so no 50 bucks.Opus, Home_on_wheels and FatDaddy Thank this.

Yeah. That could be a problem. I know how to pick battles so hopefully it's a rare to never occurance.
-
yeah, it's amazing how that computer can chop off so many miles so they don't have to pay.PoleCrusher Thanks this.

What I think is f'd up is when you book a load off the board it says xx number of miles then when it comes to the truck it's a different number of miles but then when Jill computes the route it's a third number of miles and it's all out of Green Bay.
drvrtech77, Home_on_wheels and PoleCrusher Thank this. -
gotta take that stuff to head of the division and Lofgren. They HAVE to know that kind of stuff is being seen and paid attention to. Reality is thats kind of fraudulent and tthere could be legal repercussions from it.
TennMan Thanks this. -
That's why I use mapquest/google maps etc and plug in the cities to see actual miles.
But of course by the time you do all that somebody else beats you to the load lol.Home_on_wheels Thanks this.
