Changing antenna shaft length

    Will changing an antenna shaft length affect the SWr? Currently have a browning antenna with an 18 inch shaft length that I want to go to a 24 inch shaft to get it up a little higher

    Yes, because you're not only changing the physical length of the antenna, but also the electrical length of the antenna.

    Its likely gonna be close to same over all height but coil will be higher...
    Be sure to use a beefy mount and stud...Check it closely every week and after heavy winds...Might be there one min and gone the next...
    Another good idea is to use a smidge of antisieze where any two points connect..
