    I agree Don,
Shorts and cowboy boots would be a real fashion statement!...:biggrin_25510:

I don't drive in boots now that i'm older...I like good comfy leather walking shoes.
    NO flip flops!!

Love my LLBean comfy jeans and cotton shirts too..

It depends on the LTL. LTL is just like OTR, you have your good companies and bad ones. You just gotta be smart about who you jump on board with, and not take the first opportunity that comes your way. Not only should the employer profile you, but you need to profile them.

EZ Money and Big Don Thank this.

That is the truth! I always try to find out everything I can before hiring on with a company.

And it's hard to do that when your prospective employer isn't talked about much on the internet. I drive for the post office, which isn't talked about much on here or anywhere else, so it was hard to do any research. So, I talked to the drivers I met in reality. I love it here. 4 years later, I have no regrets.

And yes, they have a strict dress code. I have a similar uniform of a letter carrier, but I don't mind.

Sounds like a great job! That is the type of job I would never leave and retire from.
    Congrats on that Flybynight!

It is, and you're right. I'm 33, and lucky I landed a job here because I don't have a military backround. There is no turnover here. Once you turn regular and get your own run, you'd be an idiot to quit.

I got to get off my rear and clean out my old truck....
My soon to be ex-boss man was really nice about it and thanked me last week when I gave him a heads up that I am moving on.

My ex boss still calls me once in a while to see how I'm doing. Before I came here I did heavy haul for 6 years.

    Big Don Thanks this.

    I hear ya!
It is good to not burn bridges in this line of work.
My boss told me the other day that if my new job does not work out just give him a call.
He said I was the only driver he had that was 100% on time and he never worried about any load I was under.
Heck, I worked on his truck on the weekends just to help him out.

I know he is having some money problems right now but my pay is never late.
I hope the best for him too.

Ta heck with LTL, I gots tha cherry job! Local truckload flatbed, baby! The most loads I've run are three in one day. Load and bring to the yard, or drag a load off the yard and deliver local. Plus, I get to work in the office, too, learning the ins and outs of load planning and dispatch and brokering to some of our owner operators and small fleet owners. All that and hourly pay, too! Oh, and the rare, occasional, full run that I get paid percentage on and hourly to deadhead back to the yard.

Some other guys try to recruit me to their trucks, they get the same answer: "Sorry, sir, but you can't afford me."
