Thanks, man. Meet Bessie
Oxbow and Cam Roberts Thank this. -
250 is where most heavy equipment guys service their machines unless they are renting them.
I wouldn't pull the air filter out and blow it out. I would leave it till it is getting full and replace it.Oxbow, Cam Roberts, Dave_in_AZ and 1 other person Thank this. -
When I worked for CAT, NC Power Systems out of Seattle. We changed oil in our rental gens and air compressors at 250hr intervals.
Oxbow, Dave_in_AZ and G13Tomcat Thank this. -
Oil & filter = $200.
Engine = $25,000wore out, Heavyd, Cam Roberts and 1 other person Thank this. -
Why don't you just pull an oil sample and then you'll know for sure when it needs to be changed plus you'll know what's going on inside your engine
blairandgretchen Thanks this. -
Merp as my kids say; <<<no clue what it means. I do the 300 hours like religion and I don't even go to church, dang me. I still stay good with the man upstairs.Oxbow Thanks this.

If I pulled an oil sample at 200hrs and it said it was full of fuel dilution and low on base, would you keep it in there until 300hrs or change it right away and find out what's wrong?blairandgretchen, magoo68 and G13Tomcat Thank this.

Nope. I'd buck it up at 200 AND flip it....or check at 250, at the least. Good question. I'd flip it, myself tbh.
-
^^^ I'd pull a sample AFTER THE FLIP. I know my hours. 200 is low, but it happens in the summer months. Sure, could be MANY other things going on, but I sure won't neglect the change....just me.
Oxbow and Dave_in_AZ Thank this.
