I wonder how long it's going to take to get the highway cleared. There's probably going to be some deep snowdrifts because of the wind. Temps are supposed to be in the low to mid-40s tomorrow in Eastern Colorado and Western Kansas so hopefully that helps get it cleared quicker.

According to the radio station in Colby there are a lot of abandoned vehicles in the ditch and on the roadway.

I'm sitting in Omaha waiting to go west, thinking about the same issue. I don't plan on setting the alarm for the crack of dawn, that's for sure. 80 has been closed for over 24 hours now, and last I looked, blizzard warning was until 7am.

So what did you end up doing?

It's not a stupid idea... it's all about what YOU are comfortable with, you are the one driving the truck, only you know your experience level and what you can safely handle... one thing nobody mentioned is, if you're that uncomfortable or nervous in any situation, don't be afraid to park it!.. better the load arrives late with you safe and sound than upside down in the ditch or worse!... as you gain experience you'll get a comfort level with most situations that can be thrown at you out here and know when it's necessary to shut down or not. Till then, just take it slow, and learn...Truckermania and Speedy356 Thank this.
