Fine if all your loads are drop and hook with big time windows. Unfortunately there are far fewer drop and hooks now then when the industry was busier. ( my drop and hooks went from 90% six months ago to only 10% now). I have to abide by appt times for live loads and live unloads which makes night runs inevitable. Even many of the drop and hooks require running at night to get there on time.
its kinda funny i have the opposite of that problem i sleep really good during the day but at night not so well i can adjust of course with simply sleep and a box fan going on high with a humidifier going and a air filter fan going something like that ionice breeze. Im still delivering newspapers tho but I will find something better soon most likely just need get out there keep trying. i will usually sleep from 5:00am to 3:00PM depends although there times i get up early because of phone call from my cell phone. then im usely hungry so i get something to eat and then fall back asleep turkey sandwiches works the best for me
another one like me. While I can easily adjust, I am *very* definitely a day sleeper. Have been all my life - literally. Even before I was born I drove my mother nuts. Quiet all day, then keeping her awake all night. After that, I'd be cranky all day (they tried to change my sleep habits for a long time by keeping me awake during the day), but I'd still be awake in my crib at 2 in the morning. 50 years later.. I still say the day doesn't start until the sun goes down.
you guys are rare if am tired enough i can sleep either way, close my curtains and its night either if its day or night... i like driving at night sometimes...if im headed to NYC or something like that makes life easier, the sun can be a PITA sometimes anyway
Guess I am rare too......... I would work graveyard for the rest of my life if I could! Work 12 hour days right now....... then go straight to 4 hours of driving school....... the whole class laughs because I arrive exhausted at 6pm but by about 8pm when the sun goes down I start talking and hopping around like a mexican jumping bean....... then I get to sleep from 11/12 till 5:30/6 if I am lucky and back at it again...... I teach right now so I love it when I can sleep days in the summer and stay up all night! (Also works well since I live in Bakersfield.... 80 degree Christmas mornings does not make for cool summer afternoons........ )
If u have a teaching job why r u getting into trucking? Trucking is slowing up and when fuel hits $6.00 a gal; which will cost a truck $1.00 a mile in fuel alone, driving will be cut back drasticly!
You know us women and how much we love our secrets.......... Obviously I do have my reasons........ just don't think they are real exciting or newsworthy...... (I just bumped an old post about myself if you are that bored....... and/or........ need a good laugh...) http://www.thetruckersreport.com/tr...new-drivers/39689-can-i-get-a-free-trial.html
