Installed a CB in our truck awhile ago. (used).
Always thought it was quiet on 19.
Well, today I figured out that I can hear (and talk) to other guys on 18.
What is up with that? Seems like the numbers are messed up.
Seems like my radio thinks 18 is the new 19.
Channel 18-19 troubles.

What kind of radio is it?
Some exports have a 10 khz switch that sort of "jumps" one channel to the next. (it really just jumps to the next frequency) -

It's either off frequency or somebody messed up the channel display. I'm betting it's off frequency.

Is there an easy fix?
Or just learn to live with it? (or take it and let a techie fix it?)Brickhauler Thanks this. -
Yes, very easy fix. Located by the fuel islands in most truck stops, is a round plastic container for depositing your defective Chinese made CB radios.
Just minutes after you make your deposit, your radio will be available inside, in fresh working order--you only need to pay the $99.95 repair fee. Best of all, it comes with a new box and loosely translated chineee-to-engrish instruction manual that will give you hours of enjoyment.bullhaulerswife and squirrellsgnwild Thank this. -
yes it is an easy fix for a cb shop.. it will not cost much

like it!!

Depends on exactly what is wrong with it but, it should be a fairly easy repair if it's not really screwed up by some "golden screwdriver" tech.
