To everyone who complains about cheap freight coming out of Florida, what did you come down to Florida for? I'll bet it was a lot more than $2.25 per mile. Just like the poster before me, it's a law of averages. Personally, I won't go down for less than $2.50 (to central FL) or $3.00 (to south FL). I will only take cheap freight if it's short and goes to GA, SC or NC. Otherwise I'm putting it in the wind to Atlanta or Charlotte.
And the same people whining about cheap freight are the first ones to take $1.50 per mile going into Florida during produce time so they can make a killing coming out. That hurts guys like me who can't or won't haul produce. So I just avoid going to FL from January to June except for home time.

So you are a CHEAP FREIGHT HAULER I dont haul cheap period So while you are talking about hurting you should realize that you are part of the problem. You have to realize if you haul cheap one way and its another cheap hauler hauling it the other way where do the problem come from you guessed it the cheap freight haulers. I like to thank you for clarifying to us that you are a cheap freight hauler and $2.50 wont get me to the FL line let alone central and to get me to S. FL I need $4.00 or I dont go Unless I have a load coming out pay $2 or more. I dont move my truck unless it can make $2 or more for every mile it moves including dead head miles. Lately I have only been running 2-3 states

You need $4.00???? Why does a broker/shipper have to pay for your gambling problem or gold-plated truck? $4.00? Why stop there? Why not $5.00 Hell, why don't we just all agree to pay company driver 80 cents/mile and all carriers book @ $5.00 loaded mile? I mean if we're going to live in a fantasy land where there is no competition.
If they truly can't haul for those sub $2.50 rates, they'll go broke and you'll have all that fr8 to yourself. Be patient. -
