Most of mine at the moment is flatbed freight, and the majority of it is paying WELL over $1.30 a mile + FSC. Like I said; you're looking in the wrong places and with the wrong people.

I getting $2.50/mile+ RT. If I find something back, I take a percentage of what I am getting off the invoice. Net to both of us is better if I find something. Just have agreement that I won't go too low. In reality, she has "bought" my return trip. We just have an agreement that I don't have to go below $1.50. She understands that would hurt my business long-term.

    1.50 - .60 fsc = .90 line haul

I have $2 gross minimum since my carrier takes 25% of the line haul. I couldn't profit at 75% of .90. That's deadhead time for me. Ain't doing no favors for strangers.

Always mention this to all cheap brokers. They need to learn to bid properly or stop
    keeping so much.

Hey BBBill what you mean by RT? nevr heard that acronym for trucking.

Yeah, haul a load at $2.50 Round Trip (which means he is getting $5 a mile loaded, and comes back empty ;))

The majority of the loads with fuel included pay over $2 a mile. $1.30 linehaul was being very very conservative. It truly just depends on what destination it's going to. Some of it pays far far better than that. Some not so much.

When all the hay started going down there I quit going to texas. Even the hay going down there is getting cheaper every time I see it on the board.
