Anyone recommend a decent but affordable sand blaster for the frame? I need to clean up a little rust spots and taking my drill with a small wire brush isn't cutting it..

Needle scaler works pretty darn good. Or a grinder with wire wheel, or flap disk. I really like my needle scaler.

I've used a sand blaster, a cheap one at that. The blaster itself is only half the battle. You need a big compressor and clean DRY air. Also good clean sand. And that sand gets everywhere!! If you don't have good dry air and sand the blaster will clog constantly. At least that was my experience.
Did I say try a needle scaler

I bought one from Grainger years ago. It had a tube that could be stuck in a bag of play sand. It worked well for small jobs and still have it. Always ended up waiting for 5 HP compressor to catch up.

I bought a handheld one off Amazon, worked ok for small stuff. Honestly if you don't have a big compressor that can put out at least 30 CFM its going to be a huge pain in the ### IMO.

A cheap blowgun that you can thread a pipe nipple into, a tee, and an empty metal soup can will get you something that’s useable for less than 10 bucks. Buy a bag of play sand from a box store that keeps it inside and get started.
You will find it to be an unpleasant job and need a big air compressor and or a big tank. The difference between maintaining 175psi and 90 is huge on your productivity.
Will post a picture of my setup this afternoon

This is ductless, and cheap. For small spot jobs I would think it should work.

He must of had better luck. We tried one and really didn't work that good

I'll have to double check but I'm pretty sure our compressor 20cfm and that could use just a little more oomph. It works, we've used it on both trucks but you have to let the compressor catch back up you can't go wide open the whole time.

    I second the needle scaler

forget about sandblasting if you have little spots. Just clean rusted areas with metal brush and put corroseal on it with brush . Next day paint it with enamel. Permanent solution.
