Replace the bulb in your "reading" light above your head with a blue or red bulb. You can leave it on while you drive and still see in the cab without blinding yourself with white light.

I saw a guy, in a bobtail, release his fifth wheel locking tabs, then just grabbed the wheel and pulled it back!

1. When you park at night, know how you're gonna get out (and guess where the late guy is gonna try to make a spot).
2. Never let someone else intimidate you into doing the wrong thing...... get used to the fact that you don't know it all and embrace the newbieness of it all. In other words, when someone is honking at you or just being a regular kinda douche, just smile and waive as if you were their retarded brother. Look, no one has ever been fired for getting out and looking or taking 30 minutes to park......smile (be sincere) and waive.
3. Have as much fun and see as many things as you can.....and try to enjoy doing what so many wish they could.... -

after a day of riding in snowy/freezing conditions, DO NOT set your trlr brakes when parking for the night. set your tractor brakes only. if you do, you will find that your trlr brakes have frozen solid to the drums after 10 hrs. do serpentines in the lot before hitting the road to make sure none of your tandems are stuck.
Lilbit Thanks this.
