With the low price of high flow mufflers, seem ridiculous to be wasting time on some old trucker tale stuff trying to play games with baffles in mufflers. And trying to corrode them out? Chances are it will corrode the whole muffler at the same time. Personally, I am fond of the Walker Megaflows. And the 7 year warranty is not a bad plus either! When I bought mine, I got a pair of them from Summit Racing for $119 a piece.

Cheap and straight would be some 5" galvanized exhaust pipe. When they start to rust slap some BBQ paint on them. Gutted mufflers are not straights.

Battery method works I know someone who used to do it - to other people's equipment. Toss a couple of D's in each stack, go up Monteagle getting them hot. At the top pour some water in the stacks. Eliminates baffles and later on the money you saved in fuel mileage will help pay for replacing rotted pipes.

dat's what I done did.

I thought discussion about altering anything on the motor (ie exhaust) wasn't allowed ?
More air flow more emissions ..... -
more air flow means more air flow same crap comeing out the pipe just faster
-
Actually it would be altering noise emmission equipment.

I'm just irritated about the whole performance deal...... I understand why, but I don't have to like it.........

There have been regulations against engine modification since the late 70s, that's the same thinking that say burning twice the amount of fuel leads to a better environment.
