I understand, my friend. We all have rough days. I hope you have a good one today.
-
Reed transport has a 43,000lb load going 350 miles paying $375. I'll never call them again what a waste of my time.
-
Ok....Just to satisfy our curiosity....Which one of you takes those cheap azzed loads?
Come on now....
Don't be shy....
We won't hit you......
Too hard..... -
I'm not. And not having so much trouble getting my rate this month compared to the first two months. 2212 hub miles in a week paid $2.29, my loaded miles only rate is @ $2.46 knock on wood. In a world of cheap that's not too shabby for spot dry van. Getting the hang of load boards as well been booking all of my own loads lately.
Support81 Thanks this. -
Actually that video is very telling if you pay attention. Typical example of how the game is really played.
When asked how much he wanted to move the load the trucker screwed himself voluntarily. The broker just did not correct it for him, grinned all the way to the bank.
When they tell me a low rate I just chuckle and say no thanks, I will need quite a bit more than that. Then the question. How much do you want to move the load? My answer is just as rediculous as the first offer but in the opposite direction. Sometimes we can reach an agreement, sometimes not, depending on the situation.
The problem is that there is always some dummie who thinks that if he has a load on his back he must be making money. Well, at least paying for the fuel.
I think that a majority of owner operators are hauling loads without even taking the time to run the numbers. It seems that they just take whatever is offered. If a broker can get it done for a dollar, why would he offer up two dollars? YOU have to ASK for the money!!!!!!!! -
Looks like you are doing well. Likely because that the people you deal with learned that you are not hauling their load just to get home. They know that you can be had but you're not cheap.
If a broker insults my intelligence by offering cheap freight then I feel justified in laughing at him. Really I enjoy it.
But its not their fault. They all seem to know that they will get that call eventually from the guy who just wants enough for fuel to get home. Can't blame them for waiting a few more minutes till the dummie calls. Make a quick grand off them. Who's fault is it? -
The Bottom-Feeders who prefer not to do the math.....
Taking a cheap load just doesn't hurt the the Bottom-Feeder...It also hurts the industry as a whole...If even a small minority take the "$1/m Tarped Lumber" loads....The brokers will assume everybody will do the same.....
