Hey I've got an interesting one. Saw an alert on a 911 mile load to East Hampton, NY yesterday posted at $3,840.00 gross pay, called and well it had another final stop in Westbury, NY another 90 miles... ...ok... then they quoted me $2,600 and I then asked why it posted at almost $4,000 "oh that was a mistake we deleted it".. This morning I see the exact same load come up again, same broker, offered up at $1,638.. What do you think? I think I was tempted to go up there for $4,000 but not really excited about the prospect, $2,600 is a joke but seems to be the limit of what they will pay on it..

Here is another one I forgot to mention " Carrier Nationwide" wants this load moved for not even fuel. Has been listed since two days.

Bad apples at every company but you'll never see me say anything bad about Landstar I think they're one of the best out there. It's like you say, just have to network and build with the good ones, same as any brokerage. And I don't blame them for posting 61 cents a mile on 2000+ miles... doubt that will move anyways but if it does good for them, they hit the lottery, I can't help it somebody else is stoopid...

Yea, everything coming out of the Northeash doesn't pay anything worth doing. Who wants to go up there and deal with all the jerks, tolls, and confusing highways with no way to get out of there for a fair price.

I got a better one to ask about Landstar. If I get an e-mail alert about a shippment moving lets say this,
    500 miles.
    Paying $1000.
    $2.00 per mile.
    (800)xxx-xxxx.

Call the number and ask about the load and you'll get "its paying $875.00"
    Happens all the time.

I've seen it go both ways - less or more. I never tell what I see it as and let them talk before I say anything.

    And the winner is, TQL.

Went to the city to pick up a load, it canceled. TQL said they have another one just 30 miles farther down the road to deliver. I said I'll need $25 extra, they said I can't do an extra $25, TQL can pay you an extra $10.
