You got me thinking.......... Now they make devices you blow into before you can start a vehicle for people with DUI's right. Why can't they make a device for eye scans that will tell when tired to stop and rest for HOS rules, instead of making me rest rules. HUMMMMMMMMM Should I patent that idea? Or am I a day late and a dollar short?![]()

By the way, when the driver cheats, the driver comes last. It's your life, your health and your livelihood on the line. Nobody else's. and guess what? The shipper, receiver, company or broker will all throw you under the bus. Stop giving them that power. You're the captain of the ship. You're the one who the real responsibility lies with. You're behind the wheel.
bergy, Dinomite, classic_150 and 2 others Thank this. -
My experienced advice to all drivers, rookie and experienced is don't cheat on your logs. Sooner or later they're gonna catch you and when they do any extra money you made will be donated to the state. It's in their best financial interest to catch you. You are an ATM machine to state D. O. T. 's. Just pull you over and make a withdrawal. You're not smart enough or lucky enough to get away with it. Run legal and sleep with a clear conscience.joseph1135 and classic_150 Thank this.

I sleep like a baby every night. Safe and legal. And on time.

You think I'm being cute because you assume I understand something I don't. Really, what up with DLC? It does mean we are supposed to be on duty. I've Only been DOT'd a couple times and this did not come up. Is that something to worry about or not?
-
Yeah, what we are trying to get more clear on is what cheating is not advisable. To say "don't cheat" does not tell us anything. I have never met a fellow trucker who did not "cheat". Are you one of the 1% who stays on duty at shippers when the bill says "Driver Load and Count"? or do you mean something else.
Anyway, the subject here is paper-logs. Anything to contribute on the topic? -
My life and health ...really? I'm gonna get sick and die because I minimize my on-duty time? You are just a preacher -I can't take you seriously anymore
-
Listen kid. I've been on these roads 37 years out of my 37 years. Driving the last 12 of them. If there's anything I know, it's trucking. I don't preach. I tell truth. That's it. My record and my paychecks back that up. You're a new driver. You don't know #### from shinola yet. When you do what many of us have done over the last few years, and then go back to the old 10/8/15 rule and do it then without the luxury of restarts, then tell me about preaching. By the way, last restart I has was in October and I still run 2500+ a week by knowing how to maximize hours. You've got a lot to learn.Dinomite, Captain Call, Raiderfanatic and 1 other person Thank this.

A colloquialism which dates back to the early 1940s in the United States. [1] Shinola was a once-popular brand of shoe polish, which had a color and texture not unlike feces.
LoL - had to look it up.dogtrucker, slim shady, Raiderfanatic and 2 others Thank this.
