I have freightliner cascadia 2013 dd15, this problem I had over a month now, I usually start my day normal run the engine 7 to 10 minutes than start running my shift, every time I bring my truck to stop and do the downshifting to low gears I found this 3 light come on , if I bring the rpm above 10rpm it will go, and if I stay in traffic light a long time the truck will shut down on me . I never have this problem before please let me know what that could be?

You have had this problem for a month and haven't taken it to get fixed? I don't know where to begin.

find a dealer now. You are having a problem that needs attention now. Be responsible and stop driving that thing before you get yourself or someone else in a bind. Think driver think!

Certainly sounds like an oil pressure problem. It's dropping pressure at idle triggering a code, then revving the engine up gets the iolite pressure just high enough to prevent a shut down.

What does your oil pressure gauge read when this light comes on?

Hopefully it's just a bad sensor. If it's a true oil pressure problem, you have ruined the bearings by running it for a month. Any day now those bearings are going to be so thin they break and you wipe out the crank and block.

Worn bearings allowing excessive flow. Worn oil pump can't build enough flow.
Cracked oil distribution manifold allowing leakage.

Lots of problems it could be. Low oil pressure if ignored will lead to very serious motor damage.

    It needs fixing asap.

If it's a DD15 its most likely a bad "O" ring on the oil suction tube in the oil pan....

B Mac and Freightliner-2013 Thank this.
