The antenna on your Cascadia is fine, but how and where it is attached to the truck is hindering its performance..

I'm interested in this antenna myself Sirio 5000. Did some research on it and most who ran the Wilson 1000 switch to the sirio 5000. But most where magnet mount so the ground plane would exceed performance. I'm running a Wilson 2000 with 18" shaft on a 94 pete. I hate to invest on a sirio 5000 and to find out it does no better than my Wilson 2k. The reviews I read where a plus on magnets roof mounts, I can't find a descent review for it for a "truck mirror mount" type.

I would guess they use some type of ferrite beads to knock out the noise many LED lights emit. Some guys who run a lot of aftermarket LED's I can hear on the cb 1/4 mile before they get to me and a 1/4 mile after.

@rabbiporkchop, is there a tangible benefit to this antenna?

Or is it just the novelty of having it light up when you hit the button?

    rabbiporkchop Thanks this.

See it is simple, many of these lights have super cheap drivers in them, so they make a lot of noise. The LEDs themselves don't, they can work on DC or in many cases high frequency AC to drive them.

    Neverready and rabbiporkchop Thank this.
