With a slightly shorter coil and longer whip than my Wilson 5000,
It should be slightly more efficient.
I would use the one without the flashing light though. -
Cb radio magizine did a review but i think it was a mag mount, same as the review i saw on u tube with some dood named m0ogy..The reviews were good and the cb mag said there was a increase in performance over the 2000 or 5000 wilson..
If anyone is into the lighted antenna,go lookin on youtube lotsa example and even a few how to.. -
What?
It looks like the only difference is that they added a coloring agent to the plastic, that's all. Acrylic used in some custom antennas is really stronger than that of the injected plastics used in mass production. -
I'm not interested on the light show, I'm ONLY interested on its performance. I read the reviews on the Sirio 5k period but not the lighted version. @Ridgeline, so there is NO difference compare to the Wilson 2k ?

I haven't heard any yet, it seems that there isn't any magic to them other than a good engineered product of the past.
It reminds me of sitting in a Wendy's drive through back in early 80's behind a van with a pair of A/S lighted antennas in tandem (do not ask me why he had them setup that way, I can't figure it out). The tips and the base would light up when you keyed it with more than a few watts. the more wattage, the brighter they got. These were not the neon lighted ones that A/S made in the 70's. So I knew the guy was running a little Palomar amp and it was really funny to hear him come over the loud speakers at the drive through and light up the top of the van. A few months later those antennas ended up to be a problem for him, as many typical yahoos of the time he wasn't too bright of a person. He was breaking into cars and stealing snow blowers out of garages. This was getting really to be a pain for people, the cops could not figure out who he was until one night they saw the flashing lights coming from an 'empty' van - he was sitting behind the seat where they could not see him. He was talking to his girlfriend who was scouting for him on a bike. They caught the guy with three snow blowers in the back of the van and other assorted stolen items like a few CBs. She was busted a few weeks later selling cbs to the people they stole them from but that's another story.Diesel Dave and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
Like i said..cb radio magizine did a review on the NON lit version but im thinkin it was a mag mount and same with m0ogy..They had good reviews..As for a 18 wheeler install performance reports i have not seen anything good or bad..
Diesel Dave Thanks this. -
Im not sure i would want the antenna to light up in case I ever felt the urge to announce my lack of panties
Bob Dobalina, BTShepp and rabbiporkchop Thank this. -
If you like the lack of pantys and a ant that lights up..Easy fix..Run 2 antenna on a switcher..
Your panty boi ant and man antennaBTShepp Thanks this. -
I went from a mag'd wil1000 to a hard mounted sirio 4000 on my pickup, with improved results. But the wilson was around 5ft, compared to the sirios 7ft length.
I would think, with the trucker style, one should see better results with the sirio, being as they are also 7ft, compared to a 5-5 1/2ft wilson.
Dont much care for the light show though...rabbiporkchop Thanks this.
