Check point and OOS for flat tire?

This is incorrect information. The PSP reporting system does not use a score or points system. This system only REPORTS DOT/FMCSA records of crash and inspection activities of an individual CDL holder. PSP stands for Pre-employment Screening Program. It allows a carrier to obtain a record of the last 5 years of crash data and last 3 years of inspection reports.

 

So what to expect to be on PSP in this case and how harmful it is and if there’s a way to get it cleared?

 

It will show up on your PSP record as an inspection with violation, the violation will be noted as to the section and what it was. It could possibly be on your co-drivers report if they were also listed in an inspection It will note that no violation was placed against your co-driver.

The only way it clears is three years time.

 

Time heals. Every roadside violation shows for 3 years though they do note if a co-driver was along too.

You got caught with a flat tire. That's rather low on the scale of potential future employment problems don't sweat it.

 

He was cordial but you and your Carrier still got an OOS on each of your records. You'll get some points on your PSP and the Carrier will get some on their CSA/SMS.

Back to the yard“ or they ask you to make it to a truckstop 57 miles up the road? You tell them no. It’s your CDL, it’s your record not theirs. Although the inspections do go on theirs as well. They want to risk marking up your record so they can save 100 bucks not calling roadside assistance.

 

Well....OK, how about a piece of steel in the road? Point being, you can check a tire in the morning, at noon, it's flat. Same thing with light bulbs.

 

Point taken. However, morning till noon can be either 6-12 hours. By then I have probably stopped 10 times by then which would probably given me at the most a 2 hour window from my last check.

 

But i stop twice a day, at best.

 

Good God, for what? I don't even stop when freight falls off the deck and hits a cop's windshield. Just flip him the bird and keep rolling. Gotta keep that left door shut.
