Percentage of Revenue Lease Option or Mileage-based Lease Option? Which in your opinion is better?

    Any of you do it?

What do they charge for the required insurance?

Do they charge for the Purchase Power Program?(not leasing or buying a truck)

Is it cheaper to let them handle the base plates & permits($33/week they charge) or handle it on your own?

How accurate do they keep track of the fuel tax?

Do they charge you to send in the paperwork for the load? Can you scan & email it?

Do they require OTR experience to do the owner op?
*I know you guys recommend going OTR before becoming owner op. I am just curious*

Most of the time it is cheaper to go with there Base plates and permits. I use my atleast until june.
There very good about keeping up with your fuel tax no problem there.
They don't charge for sending in paper work."Trans Flo".
Im sure they require some experiance to go as a O/O OTR.
Mileage is better for some people ,if you have little OTR experiance the mileage program would be the best bet . If you are not really up to speed on where good freight is this could put you in a hole quick.
If you have a good idea and are really self motivated then the percentage would work out well. If it was me i would do the mileage plan and learn there freight lanes then switch over.

    FreightlinerGuy and TennMan Thank this.

Thanks so much for replying, and your insight.. It does make sense to go the mileage program, and switch later especially since they still dispatch you, etc..

    Thanks alot!
