Chewy in Dallas, TX is a lot like Willy Wonka and the chocolate factory. I was late for a delivery on a Wednesday and they made me sit on the load till the following Tuesday! No one would answer calls from my dispatcher or the broker. I went in to the front office hoping to talk to someone with authority. The whole place is tighter than a prison. Workers locked in, everyone else locked out. The entire place is staffed by Oompa Loompas who's only protocol is... "Not my job". Lots of song and dance but no sign of Wonka or anyone resembling management. When i finally got unloaded, Slugworth at the recievers desk tried to short me 2 pages of the BOL. If you don't have them they won't pay the carrier. Quite a racket they're running. Glad i don't have to go back! If I did I'd hang from the cage they make you wait in, scream like a banshee, and throw recycled Wonka bars at Slugworth!
Chewy can BITE ME!

Did the Purple Blueberry Brat work the front desk in the drivers dock door? (Willy Wonka Character that demands everything NOW... without regard to price and cost... until she became part of the product.)
We had a Apple lady like that in Atlanta at the NW division Safeway. 7 Am rolls around...
Whars Mine Apples Dem axe? followed by who.... ats mine apples... then a final call WHY Apples Not Heah?
(Apples from Yakima Washington mind you.. precious blessed 3000 miles away...)
Every mawning 7 am.
I should have bought a crate of apples or schnapps to her memory.
Chewy will just have to wait in it's own good time.Bean Jr., Flat Earth Trucker and D.Tibbitt Thank this. -
I have to go news diving in our State today or tonight rather, I saw a local Amazon worker or two surrounded by four truckloads of wrapped pallets all by their lonesome feeding either more pallets or a conveyor. If i find it I'll post it.
Just to show the futility of working on a place like that. It's soul stealing. Don't do it. -
Moral of the story. Dont be late.

So next time make ur Delivery on time. If u know u might be LATE CALL THE CUSTOMER!

In fairness here it sounds like he is a company driver. His responsibility ends with informing his dispatcher/boss/ whatever with an accurate ETA. Rescheduling an appointment is above the typical company drivers pay grade.

Of course! A phone call. How silly of me not to think of that! You've either never been there, or you clock in there every day...
