Oh man, child support. That had to be tough. I guess I've been lucky on that front.
OK, I've been out of the truck biz my whole life.I'm aiming to do this for the first time, and I'm kinda old (59). So I'd be doing the CDL course for the first time. I'm not in the US now, so I could come back to almost any place to get set up. I have friends and family scattered all over. So Chicago and that area was just one place I was researching to see how the scene is there.
Chicagoland.....?

Ahhhh ok!!! You're just starting out! By the way, 59 is not old to be starting by a long shot. 59 is far from old these days. I came across a guy in PA that was 70 and in his first year. So yeah, man there's really good companies out there that you can get started with, and they aren't in Chicago. Whenever you get back to the states, just mention on here where you settled at and you can get pointed in the right direction of good reputable companies to start with.

Yeah I will. So far, Texas is looking like the best place, based on the advice I'm getting, and also what I see people say about the different carriers and locations. But I still need to get accepted somewhere, so it's not totally up to me.

Yeah I'm sure I'll talk to him eventually. Right now I have more than enough ideas. I need to get to work following up on those before I add more to the pile.
ThanksBumper Thanks this.
