Some companies want at least 12 months on your drivers license. Might cut some slack, since you did have one in the past.
Lynden Transport has a dock to driver program in Texas. Terminals in Dallas and Houston.
I'd go for Dallas over Houston due to crime rate.

Try to choose a state where you don't have to pay state income taxes. Keep more of your paycheck.

Yeah, I'm at my home in Anhui Province, China right now. Just on vacation though & probably be heading back to Las Vegas early August.

 

Yeah，have 3 homes in China. Priced right, so we bought 3. That was maybe 15 yrs. ago.
One is in Beijing and two in Hefei. As you do, I love travel and experiencing different cultures.

Good for you and your family. It's a wonderful world for those with an open, accepting mind. My buddy from Fairbanks, retired trucker, moved to Vietnam. Bought a beachfront condo and has a couple of live-in housekeepers. He whiles away the time playing pool in the recreation room or lounging on the beach with his housekeepers. He's not a heavy boozer like me, but he does enjoy an occasional evening in the nightclubs showing off his housekeepers.

 

You can set up a legal domicile, without actually owning property, in South Dakota, Florida, Texas which are all no state income tax states.
You need a domicile address for your drivers license or CDL.
Escapees RV Club is the website. Couple drivers on here did that with clunker van or pickup truck with a camper shell on the bed.
South Dakota is easiest, followed by Florida, then Texas.
